We offer completely free 15 hours per week nursery places for eligible 2 year olds and all 3 & 4 year olds at the Jagonari Centre. ​

Paid places can also be arranged for those who do not meet the eligibility criteria.

All our core staff are Qualified in NVQ Childcare L3 and above, and our volunteers are DBS checked. All our staffs are First Aid qualified and most staff have a food hygiene, health and safety.  All staff are regularly refreshed in child protection and safeguarding.

We provide part time sessions:​

Morning session: 9:00am-12:00pm (20/20 children)​

Afternoon session: 1:00pm-4:00pm (14 children)​

Afternoon session: 12:00pm-3:00pm (14 children)​

Full Time sessions*: 9:00am-3:00pm ​(limited spaces)​

*We can provide 15 hours over two full days and a half​ (limited spaces)​

From April 2024 eligible working parents are also able to access free 15 hours. ​

At the London Muslim Centre we offer additional services and preschool places longer than 15 hours for 3 & 4 year olds. ​

Fees are applicable. 

Our Preschool has a maximum of up to 36 children attending daily. We have 3 sessions, morning, afternoon and full time. The children are aged between 3-5 years old, with staff ratios of 1:8.

Full Time Session: 8:30am – 3:00pm (14 children)​

Morning Session: 8:30am – 12:30pm (12 children)​

Afternoon Session: 12:30pm – 4:15pm (12 children)​

​We deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum​ as well as Islamic Curriculum incorporating Hifz, Arabic, Daily Dua’s, stories etc.        ​

All members of staff in the nursery will work with your child, but they will be allocated a specific Key Worker. The Key Worker will support you and your child during their settling in period and will be responsible for tracking your child’s progress. They will do this through observations and careful planning.

Before a new child starts, we give the opportunity for the child and the parent/carer to visit our setting in our targeted stay and play sessions. Parents are encouraged to stay with the child when they start for the first two days until the child settles. We will reassure parents whose child seems to be taking a long time to settle in. Where appropriate, we encourage parents to separate from their child in stages; firstly for short periods and then gradually building up to full sessions i.e. reducing parents time in the setting and increasing the child’s time. 

We also arrange various trips or have various events on site. This is because children learn by being out in the environment that they are learning about. In the past we have visited local farms, local library, the market and supermarket and organised fun-day events. We also regularly take small groups of children to forest school within our Jagonari site and to Weavers Field. We have invited storytellers, the Royal London air ambulance and local artists.  To develop a breadth of experience we also visit museums and art galleries. We often travel on the train and buses as part of their experience. We encourage parents to take part as well as whole school trips to parks for sports days and picnics too.
