Welcome to Rainbow House
Welcome back to returning children and families – we hope you had a good summer holiday – and also a very special welcome to new children and their families. We hope you all have a great year of learning and your time with us will be fantastic!
Topic this half term: Me & My Community
This topic will support children with settling into the new rules and routines of our setting and encourage them to make friends and feel confident in their class. It teaches children about being helpful, kind and thoughtful at home and the setting. We will also focus on what makes each of us unique and special, the importance of friendships and how people in their family, nursery, and local community are important and can help us.
Supporting Independence skills
Please teach your child and model good hygiene practice:
Wash hands with soap and water
Cough and sneeze into a tissue or use sleeve/elbow to block
Catch it, bin it, kill it
Avoid touching face, eyes, mouth or nose with hands
Please help your child to become as independent as possible with their clothing and drinking/eating snacks – particularly with items such as frube tubes or peeling fruit. Please ensure packed lunches are healthy and provide a water bottle. Children should wear a new set of clothes every day and please avoid shoes with laces. If possible, walk to the nursery.
